I got this book free during lockdown in 2020 along with a bunch of others. When several of those were very ehh, I stopped reading them. Cut to February of '23 and I had an ehh book from the library, and picked this one up as it was on my device.

I will say that it is fast paced with interesting characters. The story feels kinda Star Trek/Mass Effect if that tells you anything.

Its a police procedural at heart, but with less of the politics many of those carry.

I enjoyed the book and plan to buy the rest of the series once I get enough free Amazon Fun Buxx.

Admittedly, I picked this book up because I am a librarian.

The comics don't all deal with librarians, but there is also quite about about authors, readers, and the pandemic. Many decent strips, Some funny ones, a few laugh out loud ones, and no duds.

I enjoyed my time with this book and could see reading more.

I also really like the book itself. The pages are heavy and matte. the bookcover is a "library binding" which I thought was humorous in and of itself. Also high quality

A compelling space opera with hits of noir, thriller, and horror. Very CIShet for what I normally read, but really good. Fastest I've finished a book of this size in ages.

So yeah, this book has incest in it and I am far less down with than when I read A Game of Thrones 18 years ago.
