I mainly read sci-fi, mystery, some suspense/horror and the occasional non-fiction.

Elly Conway: Argylle (EBook, 2024, Random House Publishing Group)

Good story with interesting characters, needed a bit more editing

Note: The movie includes the characters in the book but the plot is different. A good book overall with interesting character development and plot. The main negative to me was the odd repetition several times of nearly identical exposition text. The first time it was presented made some sense and helped move the story forward. The later inclusions jolted me out of the story when I realized I'd already read the same text before.

Great collection of stories and essays

A very good collection of stories and essays. I particularly liked the stories: Down in the Bottomlands Under St. Peter's Hoxbomb

Perspectives on Chanukah was informative and especially meaningfully having been written so soon after September 11th, 2001.

reviewed The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (The Kingkiller Chronicles, #1)

"The tale of Kvothe, from his childhood in a troupe of traveling players, to years …

An excellent fantasy novel

I really like Kvothe's story and look forward to reading the next book. The usage of different timelines in the context of retelling in the book's present time was especially effective storytelling.
