I am currently reading Kurt Wagner’s "Battle for the Bird" and came across this claim about the initial days of #Twitter:

A minor nit, but this doesn’t quite add up: I joined #Twitter in September of 2006, and was the 5,649th account to sign up.

Pretty sure #Twitter had more than 5,000 users six months after launching, unless there were over 650 test accounts or something.
